Written offer
When we have decided to allot you a flat, we will send you an accommodation offer with instructions for receiving the flat and a bank giro form for paying a deposit. You must mail a receipt for the deposit paid and a filled-in letter of confirmation to Joensuun Elli by the due date given in the offer. The paid deposit is a preliminary lease contract whose period of notice is one calendar month.
Deposit
Upon becoming a tenant, every applicant pays a deposit specified in Section 8 of the Law on Leases. Your deposit is a guarantee that as a tenant you will take care of your duties as specified in the lease. The required deposit is 200 euro for a shared flat and 300 euro for other types of housing. The deposit will be returned upon termination of the tenancy if all responsibilities specified in the lease have been met. Meanwhile, it accrues no interest.
